Maintenance day September 10th
Considering we don't as yet have a launch date
for September (MIS is all booked up and Horning may or may not be available) we
will have a maintenance day for the launch equipment on September 10th. So we
need volunteers to come out to Roger's house to get things cleaned up and
repaired. The JMRC mobile launch trailer needs work (new lights, roof sealed),
equipment cleaned, new alligator clips soldered on and the big launch tower
needs new springs. Probably do a little power washing as well.
Lunch will be provided by the
JMRC!
We have flown A TON of rockets this year and it
is important that we keep up with maintenance so we don't have problems at the
field.
So if you like to fly, please come on out and
spend some time fixing things up. Many hands make light work and you get to
hang out with all your rocket friends!
When: Saturday September 10th, 10:00am -
5:00
Where: Roger Sadowsky's house, 4788 Moon Lake Rd.

Our next launch will be August 6th at MIS. Be there!
Also, the JMRC Cafe will not be operating so please pack a lunch. Water will still be available.
The field (Graves Campground) is located south of Brooklyn off of M12 between Brooklyn Rd. and M-50 just across from the MIS main entrance. Enter through the main MIS entrance on M12. Follow the signs for "Check In". Be sure to stop at the guard shack and sign the MIS waiver form. Once you're through the gate you'll proceed forward 100 to 200 feet. Turn to the right. The road will take you to the Tram # 9 station. From there you will see the tunnel that goes "under" US-12, follow that to the Graves Launch Site.
At the end of the day, you may leave the way that you entered.
Drive back to the MIS Security building. You'll see a Yellow grid painted on the asphalt. Drive up to that point & the gate will open so that you can leave for the day.
Flights up to 3000' are approved!
Maker Faire this weekend!
We will be at the Detroit Maker Faire this weekend, July 30-31, at The Henry Ford in Dearborn. Get ready to build and fly your own rocket right there in the front yard of the Henry Ford museum.
