And November 14th is confirmed.

We will be back at the Horning #1 field this Saturday November 7, 2026.

We will also be back at Horning #1 on November 14th just to give as many opportunities to fly as possible before the end of the year.

Setup at 9:00am and teardown no later than 4:00pm. Please help if you can.

Launch is ON for October 24th!

 After several long weeks and postponements, we finally have a launch. The rest of the corn on Horning 1 was harvested today. The field is clear and ready for use. We will have the port-a-john on site and the parking area will be mowed. Wind forecast is less than 5mph with partly cloudy skies. 

A few of quick notes. There is a big home football game in Ann Arbor Saturday at noon. If you're going through there to get to the field be aware of the game traffic. Next, the corn is gone from the field, but short stalks remain and can make for difficult walking. Just grab any of the club BOD members if you need help with recovery or a driver for the Mule. 

Reminder that we have the club Alpha Streamer Duration contest going on as well as the precision altitude contest. You can enter to fly these events for this launch as well as the November launch.

Launch Still GO for October 24th.

The field at Horning #1 should be cut today, October 22, so we should be clear to launch this Saturday October 24th. But please check back here before you head out just to be sure.

Launch Postponed to October 24th

This is a time of year for major flux at the farm. Some years things go well and according to plan and other years it's a hot mess. This year if falling towards the latter. We had originally hoped to have had a September and October launch by now, but weather and staffing at the farm have caused our schedule to slip. 

 

We are setting the next launch date for October 24. That should be ample time to finish the corn harvesting at Horning 1. The next launch date after that will be November 7 with a backup date of the 14th. We need to get the November launch in before the 15th when Michigan firearm deer season begins. The Horning's lease spots on their fields for deer hunting and we won't be able to use the field for the last half of November. 

 

We appreciate everyone's patience. 

Launch Postponed to October 10, 2026

The Horning 1 field didn't dry enough to finish harvesting before this fresh round of rain. That said, we have to postpone the launch again to October 10. Let's hope for a dry week ahead.

Launch Postponed until October 3, 2026

 We just heard back from the Horning's and the corn that is still on the field is too wet to harvest yet. They don't expect to continue until next week. We'll postpone the launch to October 3rd and hope it doesn't rain next week.

Update for this Saturday September 26th.

Well, the Hornings are working on the field now but we are still not sure if it will be ready for Saturday. We will hold as long as we can but we may have to postpone. We may try for Sunday if we can't do Saturday. Otherwise we will have to push back to October 3rd.

Wish we could give you a more solid date but it all depends on the field.

September  26th Launch Update.

The Horning #3 field will not be ready for the 26th but the corn is being cut at Horning #1 so we will be moving the launch there. There is still a chance that we will have to move the launch back a week if all the corn can't be cut. The Hornings are waiting a bit to let the corn dry some more before they cut the rest. 

Keep a look out here for updates but we suspect we will be able to fly this Saturday.

Next Launch September 26, 2026 (tentative)

If the crops stay on schedule, our next launch will be Saturday, September 26. We will probably still be at Horning #3. Could still change so check back here as we get closer to the date.

So for our September 29th launch we had: 

140 sport flights.
2 competition flights.
29 fliers.

Best day we have had in some time.

The field is being cut so we are GO for this Saturday August 29th.

We will be at the Horning #3 field. Setup at 9:00am and open for flights at 10:00am.

Lost and found!

We found a couple of rockets that drifted off to the west of the field during our launch on August 1st . You can pick them up at the next launch.

Well that wasn't so bad! 

Despite the threat of rain we were able to get a pretty good launch in. 54 flights with 11 fliers made for a great day! See you all next time.

We are going to show up and hope for the best!

Weather not great but we'll be there and see what happens. Should be able to get at least a few flights in today.

The weather forecast is not so great but we will do our best! We will be checking the weather in the morning and make a final decision then. We may have to start late or leave early or just sit it out for a bit. Tune back in here or check the forums before you head out.

Sorry gang but based on field conditions and a poor weather forecast we are calling off the launch for July 5th.

We will try again probably about August 1, 2026.

Looks like Sunday, July 5th is the best day we can come with for our next launch. We know that is a holiday weekend but that is what we can do based on the crops.

Launch for June 27th is Canceled

The field has not been cut so we will not be able to fly on the 27th. We will see if we can do something over the July 4th weekend but we'll see. Check back here for updates.
