July 26 Launch Update:

As of Friday morning, the forecast for the launch tomorrow is somewhat grim. Scattered thunderstorms starting predawn and throughout the day. Some strong storms with high winds are possible in the mid-to-late afternoon. The wind is predicted to be 5-7 mph from the south, so if the launch is a go, we will set up on the south side (see map). We had some rain last night and this morning, but the field is still firm and usable. That might change if we get a lot of rain overnight. I will be up at 6 to check on the field condition and forecast. A go-no go decision will be made after the morning assessment. We will update this email and the blog site, https://jacksonmodelrocketryclub.blogspot.com/, with news and the launch decision.

Reminder, this is a low-power (G impulse and below) launch site. As you can see on the map, there is Pleasant Lake and homes to the east and the Consumers Energy Compressor Station to the northwest that restricts what we can fly on this field.
